Using Technology to Enable and Drive Business Innovation
Speaker: Alex Figuero, CIO, Temple Inland

After two years of economic crisis, business activity is beginning to recover. But businesses will look and feel differently than they did prior to the crisis. This recession has been a game changer and processes, relationships and even business models have shifted during that time. Innovation will be required as businesses to remake themselves as the economy recovers and IT will need to play a key role in this period of innovation.  Discuss ways in which he is retooling and refocusing his organization to rise to the challenge.

2:30pm – 3:30pm
Executive Panel Discussion: The Game Changing CIO – Striking a Balance for Success
Moderator: Rick Beers, Founder, ‘making-IT-real’
Panelists: Chris Dighton, Vice President and CIO, Turner Industries Group; James Watson, CIO, Energy Alloys

Today’s economic climate presents a challenge for CIO’s as recovery is forecasted to be slow and inconsistent. CIO’s are facing difficult investment vs. cost decisions as organizations seek to grow and differentiate themselves through improved information technology capabilities while continuing to constrain costs. A challenge to be sure, but an opportunity as well for CIO’s who can effectively navigate through this period. Quest has assembled a diverse panel of CIO’s to discuss their strategies for success and take questions from the audience.

3:45pm – 4:45pm
Closing Keynote: Winning in a Period of Uncertainty through Business and Technology Convergence

Faisal Hoque, Founder, Chairman and CEO, BTM Corporation

This period of uncertainty presents great opportunity for enterprises that best leverage technology to deliver business excellence. But creating an environment where technology helps to actually shape- rather than simply enable- strategic choices will require organizations to synchronize-rather than simply align-their business and technology decision making. And in the best managed modern enterprises, technology and business management will actually converge as activities become increasingly intertwined. Mr. Hoque will discuss ways that leading enterprises are striving for such convergence and results they are experiencing as it is achieved.
