Q: What are the benefits of being a Quest member?

A:  As a Quest member, you can enjoy tangible and intangible benefits. Direct benefits include Quest Q&A Magazine, discounts on registration for Quest events, Infocast tools and members-only sections of the QuestDirect website. Intangible benefits include:

  • Interaction with other users – through face-to-face and electronic collaboration where you can network with other users and build professional relationships and support networks.
  • Higher product satisfaction and smoother implementations -- tap into Quest’s ready-made knowledge network of users. You can save time and money, learn about best practices and implementation techniques and get solutions to your biggest challenges.
  • Time and money savings -- receive discounted registration fees for Quest events and other Quest offerings. For corporate members, this discount is available to everyone from your organization.
  • Access when it is convenient for you -- visit QuestDirect for 24-hour access to information, news feeds and user-to-user interaction. Stay in touch with Quest and Oracle news through the Quest Q&A magazine. In addition, you can find educational information from the presentations at conferences in the education archive.

Q: Who can be a Quest member?

A: Quest membership is open to the Oracle user community, including PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, Oracle Utilities and the entire ecosystem, from the underlying ERP solutions to the numerous complementary products and services. This is true for users anywhere in the world, regardless of the size of your company, the product you use, or your role in the organization. Membership is available in the individual or corporate category. In addition, special types of affiliate memberships are also available to vendors of complementary products and services and Oracle employees. The benefits for these affiliate memberships are different than user memberships.

Q: How much does Quest membership cost?

A:  Customer membership in Quest is both beneficial and affordable, and a variety of membership options are available. For user companies in North America, pricing for individuals at the fullest level of membership is $245 USD, while corporate membership (10 people) at our fullest level is $995 USD. Participation is also available at the no cost "subscriber" level. Please see the membership levels page for options and pricing for companies outside of North America as well as vendors of complementary products and services. Memberships are renewed annually.

Q. What is Quest's relationship to other user groups?

A. Quest is independent of many local/regional, product- and industry-specific user groups, but has a cooperative relationship with many of these groups and supports the services they provide whenever possible. Quest encourages its members to participate in all the user groups and resources available to you. The benefits derived from user group participation vary depending on the group, but services are complementary to Quest benefits.

Q. What is Quest's connection to Oracle?

A. Quest works in a collaborative manner with Oracle to benefit the user community, but is completely independent of Oracle Corporation. Quest participates in Oracle's International Oracle User Community (IOUC) which is comprised of user groups representing the Oracle user community.

Quest is run by and for customers, and is a not-for-profit corporation funded by membership fees and event revenues.

Q: What is the difference between an individual user membership and corporate user membership?

A:  Individual membership entitles one individual to a single Quest membership. This individual receives all Quest benefits, including event registration discounts, Q&A Magazine and QuestDirect members-only sections.

Corporate membership entitles up to ten individuals who work for the same company to enjoy event registration discounts, Q&A magazine and QuestDirect members-only sections. Also, any other employee of the company may attend Quest conferences at the discounted membership price.

Q: What is different about Quest events?

A: Quest events are true user events, planned by and for Oracle customers with a peer-to-peer collaborative focus. Quest events allow users to choose from a variety of resources to help them get the maximum benefits from their existing investments, as well as learn about additional options available. Vendors support Quest conferences through advertising, sponsorship and exhibitor participation.

Quest events are educational and networking events, not marketing opportunities. Resources include educational breakout sessions, keynote presentations, exhibits (in most cases), product demonstrations, and opportunities to network and congregate with other users. We provide excellent speakers in both the general session and the educational tracks. In addition, there are lots of great social activities to encourage networking within the user community.

Q: What international events does Quest offer and what is their purpose?
A: Through our affiliated international chapters, Quest presents regional and national events in South Africa, Asia and Australia. These events intended to provide networking, knowledge sharing and educational opportunities in a smaller setting with more regional feedback provided by local Boards of Directors. If you would like to help with planning one of these events or get involved with a Quest Chapter, please contact Quest Headquarters.
